Animations
- How to create custom animations Make your own third person animation for Punchy! Moves in Blockbench or Punchy! Studio, from the rig to a clip playing in game.
- Animation files Write or edit the clips Punchy! Moves plays: where the files go, bones, every keyframe form, lerp_mode, all 30 easing curves, loops, and what makes a key or a whole file drop.
- Compat files Decide which clip plays when: containers, actions, settings, item groups, sequences, cameras, emotes, Better Combat and expressions.
Faces
- Faces overview How Punchy! Moves gives the player a face that blinks, glances and reacts, and which parts of it skins and packs can change.
- Faces in packs and clips Add looks, eye shapes and reaction changes to a resource pack, and key the face in any clip. Every key, value and range, with full files to copy.
- Face reactions All 119 face reactions with what triggers each one and its priority, how clip faces and reactions combine, glances, how a pack changes a reaction, and the settings.
- The face marker For skin makers: mark where a skin's eyes are so Punchy! Moves reads them, and how the marks are saved on your computer and inside the skin.
- Face editor The Face tab and the face editor in the game: tune blinking and sparkle, switch any of the 119 reactions on or off, mark eyes by hand, test every look, and see what is saved.
Tools
- The Blockbench rig Download the Punchy! Moves rig and plugin for Blockbench, and set them up to animate clips with a face.
- Studio: Game view and live preview Watch the clip you are making in Punchy! Studio play on your own player in the real game: scrub, play, turn the camera and see every change before you export.
Recipes
- Walk cycle Make a looping walk clip and wire it into a Punchy! Moves pack: four directions, a sprint, a swing that follows your speed, a sway, a run stop and a turn in place.
- Emote Turn a clip into an emote: list it in a compat file, see it on the emote wheel and give it a key, with Hello from the example pack provided by Crafto.
- Item sequence Give a bow, a mace or a bucket its own phases: draw, hold, release, and a mace that keeps its raised pose. The examples use the example pack provided by Crafto.
- Riding Seat your player in a boat, a raft or a minecart, or on a mount: a seated pose, an idle and a moving loop, a riding camera and a lean, with the sit and nautilus clips as the example.
- Swimming Wire swim clips and the water dive into a Punchy! Moves pack, add sneak tucks (a cannonball and a belly flop), tune the blends and test it all in game.
