Every guide that uses a tool has steps for Blockbench and Punchy! Studio. Blender has steps for the clips that move your arms, not for model parts. Pick a tool and the wiki remembers it.

The first pages to read, in order.

- Punchy! Studio for Punchy! packs Make first person clips, model parts and rules for Punchy! inside Minecraft: animate, bind, try it in your hand, export a resource pack, or rebuild a pack you already have.

Animations
- How to create custom animations Make your own first person animation for Punchy! in Blockbench, Blender or Punchy! Studio, from an empty file to a clip playing in game.
- Animation reference The animation file format Punchy! reads: where clip files load, bones and keyframes, loop modes, speed, every timeline token and sounds.
- Animation types and triggers Every kind of animation Punchy! plays, from idles and attacks to using items, and the moment in the game that starts each one.
- Compat rules Write compat files that tune how Punchy! holds items: groups, patterns, per-item entries, empty hand, poses and proxies, and which rule wins.
- Tuning editor and debug position Adjust where an item sits in your hand with the in-game Hand Editor, save profiles, export a compat file for your pack, and test arm offsets with the debug position commands.
- Mix the packs Choose which resource pack supplies the animations for each kind of item, preview each choice, save the choices as setups, and see how several packs combine.
Model parts
- Model parts overview Model parts give a held item its own 3D model in first person. What they are, the folder layout, the smallest definition that works, the build order and how Punchy! draws them.
- Model part definitions The fields of a model part definition: which items it matches, how it displays, and the settings that tie its model to your animations.
- Geometry and textures Build the geometry and textures of a model part: the Bedrock file Punchy! reads, UV and texture size, bone textures, animated textures, glow and shading rules.
- Item clips Animate the bones of a model part itself, such as a lid that opens or a flame that flickers, in step with the hand animation.
- Particles Add particles to a model part: pick a bone, shape each particle, release it on a jump, a swing or a mined block, and make it glow with your own animated picture.
- Dynamic textures Swap a model part's texture or geometry by what the held item holds: the item a sulfur cube has absorbed, or a bucketed axolotl's variant.
- Conditions Choose a model part's idle by the world around the player: in water, the weather, a nearby block, the time of day or the biome.
- Variants and presets Ship several versions of one model part, know which one Punchy! draws, let players pick by item name, and add particles that show only on enchanted items.
- Item physics Make held items and the bones of a model part swing like a pendulum that follows your camera and your steps. Modes, every setting, hand space, presets and two recipes.
Tutorials
- Recreate a 3D bucket pack Build a 3D bucket pack with a model and textures of your own: a model part for every bucket, item clips, an in-water condition, sloshing liquid, glowing lava and particles.
- Recreate a 3D torch pack Build 3D torches and lanterns with a glowing animated flame, particles, a flame that goes out under water and a swinging lantern, in Blockbench or Punchy! Studio.
Reference
- Player rig Download the first person player rig Punchy! animates, learn its bone names and pivots, and open it in Blockbench, Blender or Punchy! Studio to make clips.
- Flags reference Every flag and token Punchy! reads in settings, compat files, tuning profiles, clip entries, timelines, model parts, particles and physics, with its default and the page that explains it.
